Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown is one of the largest state parks in New Hampshire. The park is the namesake of Bear Brook, a stream that runs through it. It has fishing and swimming ponds, picnic tables, hiking trails, an archery range, a playground, a ball field and other amenities. Hooksett has two elementary schools and one middle school. It doesn’t have any high schools, so teens attend schools based in other nearby towns. Its post-secondary institution, Southern New Hampshire University, is partly located in its vicinity and partly located in Manchester.
